_Hello,
This is Tammy Hudson, John’s wife. He asked me to send you some information and pictures to you of our son, Adam. Adam is 1.5 years into his 5 year commitment with the Marines. He is a LCpl stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. He is with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regimen, Fox Company (proudly called “The Bastards”). He is a machine gunner and has been deployed to the Musa Qala area of Northern Helmand Province since the end of August. We are expecting him back sometime in March-April. It cannot come soon enough as far as we are concerned! They have seen combat but from what I understand it has gotten quieter the last few months. I guess that is the pattern with the insurgents. Busy summers, quieter winters. I will attach a few pictures that Adam and his squad have posted while in Afghanistan, and one of him in his dress blues. In the picture of his squad (3rd platoon-2nd squad) he is on top to the left of the flag. Let us know if you would need any other pictures as we have a fair amount. Even though the contact was minimal the first few months they have now gotten to a base where they have internet availability periodically. We actually got to Skype with Adam last night which was a first for us. We were thrilled to see him and hear his voice (at the same time)! He is doing well.
I want to thank you for the work you are doing for our veterans. As an American I have always appreciated their sacrifices, but after the experience of having our son in the military it has opened my eyes to the sacrifices they make to protect us. Especially in times of war. Thank you!
And thank you for the t-shirt, I wore it yesterday for Red Friday!

Update on Adam
_
We have not heard from Adam since his last mission but did hear through other parents that they are back at the patrol base. They will be heading out again shortly, so prayers are appreciated. We have lost 9 Marines this week in Afghanistan. One from Adam’s battalion (he and another Marine from an engineering battalion were electrocuted while working with a power source), one from 1/6 battallion due to a suicide attack, and then the 6 who lost their lives with the helicopter crash. They were from Camp Lejeune. Their helicopter did go down where Adam is patrolling (Musa Qala) so there was some tense moments at the Hudson house until we got verification that it wasn’t Adam’s battalion. We are praying the rest of this deployment goes quickly and quietly! Hopefully he will head home mid-March. We will drive out to Cali to the homecoming. Can’t wait!
Hope all is well with you.

Update on Adam - 2/26/2012
I just wanted to give you an update on Adam. He is nearing the end of his deployment in Afghanistan! We are so excited to have him stateside! He will be home on leave the end of April. It has been a long deployment for us and we appreciate everyone’s support through care packages, encouraging words and prayers. I can’t stress enough how important this support has been.
I will attach a copy of 2/4’s latest news release and also a couple of pictures that we recently received of Adam in Afghanistan.
